End of Week Polls

I don't like to spend too much time on polls, but....

The national polls have been strange over the last couple of weeks. Last week Rasmussen had Fred holding firm and Giuliani steadily dropping all week. Then this week, Rudy has been increasing a little and Fred dropping from 19 down to 15. Yesterday Rasmussen had Rudy at 24, Fred at 15, Romney and McCain at 14. But today Rasmussen has Rudy at 23, Fred at 18, Romney and McCain at 13.

Angus Reid has released a poll with Rudy at 31 and Thompson at 26, Mitt at 17 and McCain at 12. It appears that Fred is down nationally by about 5 points. I consider that a manageable amount with two months to go.

I have recently read a pundit observe that the national numbers really don't matter--it is the individual state polls that count. They are right, though reliable numbers on a state-by-state basis are much more difficult to come by.

Anyway, Fred is ending the week strong heading into his big interview this Sunday.
