Fire in Our Belly

I have borrowed a great title from Clint G at Blogs for Fred Thompson. Clint rightly points out that Fred has put his future in the hands of the people who have to take responsibility for what happens over the next few weeks:
But, when we go to the caucuses, we need to ALL have a 'fire in OUR belly.' For Fred is so right. He knows he is not the one to determine this outcome. It is US. WE are the ones to determine our fate. It is what our Founding Fathers meant for us. Fred Thompson is OUR rock. And WE are the ones that determine whether or not, to lift him up high, to the heavens, with all of our might, and say, 'Almighty God, bless this rock, so that he may lead us down here.' And I personally believe that WE, again, will rise above as a nation, and lift Fred Thompson and his conservative principles and values up to the heavens, and ask God to bless him and lead our great country. 'WE THE PEOPLE' can do this.
It is a great point. Why should we care if the candidate has "fire in the belly"? Why don't WE show fire in the belly?

I don't know about you. I am growing weary of the hits that Fred takes--I guess I take them personally. I find myself defending Fred on other blogs--passionately. I am SO ready for tomorrow. I hope the trends in the polls are right so that we can get a lot of people to SHUT UP. And unfortunately this includes many at the relatively conservative friendly Fox News.

So if you are in Iowa (or New Hampshire, Michigan or South Carolina)--show the Fire in YOUR Belly, starting Thursday January 3rd. And good luck to Fred and Fredheads everywhere.

Yes, it is our bellies where the fire should be. I can't wait to see the results either. Thanks for the post.
