The Politico Source

It is plainly evident that the Politico report was wrong. Novak claims:
Published reports that Fred Thompson soon will withdraw from the Republican presidential contest and endorse Sen. John McCain have been traced in part to Mitt Romney's campaign, trying to stir up strife between McCain and Thompson.
(Note, I do not trust Novak as far as I can throw him--which would not be far). But if it is true, it would not be the first dirty trick associated with Mitt. There were hit web sites and push polling that have been attributed to people closely associated with Mitt's campaign.

Even so, there is something about determining how good a prophet is by whether or not what they predict comes true. Obviously the Politico is not to be relied upon. Now if we could just get them to shut up.
